Do not press anything while this happens. You'll see iTunes come to the front of the screen (full screen if you're in Lion), and it will automatically set up the Apple TV to restore. Seas0nPass will now handle the iTunes restore process on it's own. This enters your Apple TV into DFU mode.Īssuming you've done this correctly (I had to use a separate Micro-USB cable as my first was cheap and didn't work), Seas0nPass will say it has Found device in DFU mode and run through a couple quick uploads to your device, then launch the iTunes restore script. Once it is blinking rapidly you should point the silver included Apple TV remote at the Apple TV and hold PLAY/PAUSE and MENU at the same time for 7 seconds. The Apple TV light should blink a couple times, then begin blinking rapidly. NOTE: Depending on your internet connection speed, this could take upwards of 20 minutes as it downloads the firmware.Īt this point, you'll be asked to connect the Apple TV to the computer using the Micro-USB cable. The final step it will show is Creating IPSW. Seas0nPass will now download the current Apple TV firmware file, and go through various steps on it's own to create a jailbroken firmware image.
